Happy New Year's Eve from Texas everyone!
Last year, if you'd told me that I'd be living in a whole nother state different from North Carolina...I would have laughed you under the table...
...but here I am December 31, 2019 living in Texas.
I flew home for the holidays and gained tons of insight and reflection about "coming home."
I've always heard the coined term, home is where the heart is...of which I believe. Home is different. Home is more special. Home is a new normal for me, but if I had to rephrase the statement, I'd say, "home is where your peace resides."
When I was at home...North Carolina...I found peace in Raleigh, Warrenton, Youngsville...I even found some North Carolina barbecue cooked by a local. I had peace when visiting friends and holding farting babies. I found so much peace when my kids got to hang with grandparents, great grandparents, and cousins. I found peace with my brother, sister, sister-in-law, parents, nieces, and nephews. When we flew back in, I found more peace. My husband didn't get to make the trip do to his work schedule. The kids and I find peace in him.
I was able to text some friends during the flight...I found peace there as well.
I'm content that I was able to find so many small peaceful treasures going home.
I hope that you find peace this season also.
